of this amendment, the amendment is not agreed to. mr. reid: mr. president? mr. president? the presiding officer: the majority leader. mr. the senate will come to order. mr. reid: mr. president, i am told by the manager of this bill, senator mikulski, that they think they can complete work on this legislation supplemental in the next couple of hours. i hope that's the case. maybe we can even do it more quickly. what the plan is -- i've talked to the republican leader about this generally, not specifically -- is that everyone knows we've been to the white house. we've had a constructive meeting. we certainly hope that something will, positive will come from that. the republican leader and i and our staffs are working to see what we can come up with. it shouldn't take a long time to do that. i think it would be to everyone's interest if we were not in session tomorrow. it's my plan to come in at 1:00. we have an hour under our previous agreement that we have on galante. there is an hour of debate on that. we would have a vote -- we have another vote that's been set up by -- bair. mr. mcconnell: mr
